The McDowell County Schools Family Advisory Council (FAC) meets monthly to provide resources and information to parents and community members. Enrollment in the FAC is open to all. Parents are encouraged to attend through flyers, School Messenger calls, and through bring-a-friend meetings. There are representatives from all schools including the secondary schools through Title II. The FAC meets monthly to gather feedback and input from parents and community stakeholders to better serve our students. Trainings and special informational sessions are offered at each meeting. The parents provide a “wish-list” of trainings or information that they would like to have scheduled throughout the year. The FAC also provides guidance and feedback on the LEA and Title I Strategic Plan as well as the LEA Parent Involvement Policy. If you would like to join the FAC, simply come to our next meeting!
