• Welding is essential to the expansion and productivity of our industries. Welding is the foremost method of fabrication and repairing metal products. Joining metals together, using modern techniques, provides the opportunity to develop entry level skills as well as seeking higher education. The welding Technology program at the McDowell County Career and Technical Center focuses on current welding process, related technical skills, skill application and the opportunity to perform live work experience.

    Courses Taught: Fundamental of Welding Technology, Blueprint Reading and Metallurgy, Shielded Metal ARC Welding, ARC Welding, Gas Metal ARC Welding, Gas Tungsten ARC Welding, Thermal Cutting and Welding.
