I have been the principal at Southside K-8 for two years. A 1997 graduate and native of War, I attended Concord College from 1997-2001, and graduated with a degree in Secondary Education with a focus in Language Arts. Prior to working at Southside, I taught at Mount View High and Big Creek High School. In 2007, I received my master's degree in educational leadership. That fall, I became the Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction at Mount View High School and served there until I took the position at Southside July 2011.
I strongly believe that education is the key to success, and I am hoping to create an environment that offers nothing but the best to our students. Student safety and student learning are at the heart of every decision that I make every day. Accordingly, my staff and I are determined to meet the needs of every student and treat every student as we would want our own to be treated.
