Our parents and community members had a Seusstacular time at our Parent Advisory Council Meeting on March 2, 2015. The meeting was filled with activities to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ Birthday! After a read-aloud of Bartholomew and the Oobleck, we used corn starch and water to make our very own green Oobleck! The parents were amazed that it is not a liquid nor is it a solid – its Oobleck! We created our own pillows and learned another great reading strategy that focuses the child on the sound spelling before reading the word. Participants were encouraged to take a look at the reading adoption materials on display at the Board Office and at each school site. The next meeting is April 13, 2015 at the Phoenix Center in Welch.
