  • WV Governors Association for Mathematics and Science 2017

    Pictured from left to right is Leon Gravely, MVMS Principal, Jeffery Johnson, MVMS 7th Grade Science Teacher, Amanda Bishop, mother, Abigail Bishop, MVMS 8th Grade Student, and Stephen Ford, MVMS 8th Grade Mathematics Teacher. More than 700 students throughout West Virginia completed an application for the WV Governors Association for Mathematics and Science 2017. Only 65 eight grade students were selected for the program with Abigail Bishop being one of the chosen. Ten students from the 8th grade class at Mount View High filled out applications. Abigail will represent McDowell County and Mount View High respectfully and proudly. She will attend the program for two weeks at West Virginia State University starting on July 10th. This program allows students to research ways to build a sustainable future, collaborate with students across the state, and further knowledge.
